How long to install system?

It depends, I have spent a full 10hrs doing 2 amps, 8 speakers, 2 amp kits, radio, seat lift and subs. I also rerun wire to every driver.

That wasn't rushing at all just taking my time and doing it as correct as possible. I also didn't do any deadener which IMHO is more important than most anything else.

I honestly feel level of importance
1. Dsp/tuning
2. Deadener
3. Drivers
4. Sub box
5. Amps
6 subwoofer

It's amazing how much you can do with cheap drivers with a good dsp

I’m having a nice 3-way front end kit that is fully active installed along with two 10s in a 2023 GMC Sierra AT4. How long should a quality install take if done professionally?
I agree with the other post. It all depends on what is getting installed.
  • How many amps are being installed?
  • What's the amount of power?
  • Will it be a custom box or a pre-fab?
  • I'm guessing you're keeping the radio, so will you be installing a DSP?
  • Will you have custom panels made for to house your speakers?
  • How much of your doors will you add sound deadening material?
  • Will you also add sound deadening material to other parts of the vehicle?
  • Are you running thicker wires to your new speakers?
  • How experienced is the installer?
  • Will the installer do the job correctly?
  • So on, and so on...
A complete system, with a custom subwoofer box and no other custom fabrication could take an entire day, but more likely two days.

So I’m putting in 2 or 3 (haven’t made my mind up yet) JL 10TW3s, 3-way Focal K2 M fully active on JL VXi 800/8. I wanted to put the mid range and tweeters in the A-Pillar, but GMC’s curtain airbags are behind them part of the way down. So the shop wants to install them in the dash pointing up toward the windshield. They said they can tune it appropriately and won’t be a problem. Definitely sound deadening the two front doors. The system won’t have any rear fill because I doubt I would be able to hear it anyway.

You're looking at 2days with the tune possibly longer for a custom box. Run over to diyma to see build logs on the newer gm trucks they have several in depth ones

Be sure to see the sub specs. It should tell you the ideal sealed enclosure size.
