Hi Folks,

First of all i am more disapointed to be writing this than you are to be reading it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I've been reading and reading forums but am still a little unsure as to how to properly setup my old crummy hardware.

My hardware is:

Deck - Panasonic CQ-C1305U (rear RCA pre outs only)

Amp - Alpine V12 expert MRV-F405 (4 channel)

Door speakers - Alpine SPS-170A 200W max, 40W rms

tweeters - unknown sony (hidden under dash atm)

sub - not purchased yet but will probably be 1 or 2 modest 8" subs under my seat

2 x JL audio passive crossover boxes - have tweeter, woofer and input connections

My goals are very modest, just to have this crap hooked up right. Mainly my confusion is around the amp.. never used a 4 chan before.

So my deck only has rear pre-outs, i will use Y splitter to run these to chan's 1,2,3,4 inputs on my amp right?

From my amp, I will go out of channel 1 + and - to both crossover boxes and from them to the appropriate speakers right?

From my amp, I will go out of channel 2 + and - straight to my sub?

Will this work? Any better ways to do it? Any concise and logical advice would be appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Cheers!

Barry

how many alpine door speakers do you have (2 or 4, I'm assuming 2)? those are coaxes (has tweeter and mid) so you will want to scrap the sony tweets and jl xovers. think of a channel as 1 speaker. so channel 1 + and - to that speaker's + and -. channel 2 + and - to speaker 2. if your left rca from head unit goes to amp channel 1 then wire channel 1 to your left speaker and right speaker to channel 2.

channels 3 and 4 would then be used for your sub(s).
