Is my HU faulty?

Over the past few months, my left speaker will fade out then back in. It's completely random. It's a JL Audio C3. My HU is a Sony 601bt. The amp is a JL Audio 500/3. Everything I got brand new just last year.

I could be just sitting in a parking lot and the music will play fine, then suddenly the left speaker will just fade out, it may come back on in seconds, minutes or never until I get back in my car again later.

My install is on point, JL's amps are usually quite solid so I'm leaning on the HU but what do you guys think might be cause this to happen?
