The battery on the side isn't limiting the width, it's the distance between the fender wells that is only 37.5"Did the subs not fit horizontally width wise?
Great craftsmanship as always.

The Blazer has 37.5" for width and the outer dimensions of a 18" Fi BTL is 18.65" so 18.65"x2=37.3" which gives you just barely enough room to mount them so they load equally into the port.
I was barely able to fit (2) 18's horizontally when I built my 37.5" wide box shown below. The thing about my box that I didn't like was that it was tuned way to low. But I fixed that by cutting off the rear top corner matching it to the same angle of my rear window which not only allows me to push the box all the way back and let me use the rear seats, but also raised the tuning from about 28hz to about 35hz...
You guys can swing by and try the subs out in this box if you want, the bracing is all upgraded and is resined inside I have no use for it anymore. I could probably drop it off to you since I have access to a pickup truck...
Here is what I was talking about when I said I took the top corner off, it's now 13.5 cuft @ 35hz...
