hooked up a set of rears (kicker ds693) in my hatch back today. no amp, just straight from the HU. am barely getting any sound from them :\, running on ofc 12 gauge, 2.5m in length to each speaker, while my rf p1693's are still shaking the doors running on original factory wiring. wtf???

The wire size isn't going to make a night and day difference while running stock power.

Double check your wiring configurations its possible that you could lower the impedance. If you really want to fix the problem you're going to have to get an amplifier for optimal output considering the RMS is over 100w IIRC

with a real high rms, expect the stock speakers to put out more bass on head unit power. however, if it's real low output, then you might have a wire crossed, and they are phase-cancelling, meaning what one is doing, the other is moving the opposite way

Is this a blue or blue/white wire from the Kenwood? The ACC wire is red and although that should turn on the amp, it is not the prefered wiring...

low level when using RCAs so that knob should be pushed out. The crossover turn it all the way right and use the one on the head unit and set it...
