Safe to test possibly blown sub on amp?

I do have a dmm handy, if they are blown I won't get a solid 4 ohm reading I am guessing? I am getting a solid 1 ohm rating from speaker wires.
If your getting a solid reading at the wires then ure fine to play it. Turn it up mayne, ull figure out it there blown real quick
