I'm sure some of you have seen some of my other posts about possibly buying some Type-Rs, but before I order, I want to be confident I'm making the right choice. I'm set on getting the AQ1200D so I'll have 1.2 kw to work with. I'm looking at 2 12's and let's say they'll be in optimum enclosure.

So within the

here's a review i was just reading over.

"I've read a few posts around here that compares the type-r to the sdc2.5. with the full 600 watts rms (alittle over that actually with the iA7) the sdc2.5 blows the type r away. my buddy has a type-r 12" with 600 rms alpine monoblock wired to a 2 ohm load in his 2008 civic. it does not even come close in output. The sdc2.5 gets alot lower as well. like I said before I could not be happier... "

Hit up skip01 I believe he's tried both fairly recent.
X2 i was just gonna say this. He ran a bunch of 10s for a while. He was getting some crazy #s tho on 12" argggghhsss. My buddy has arghhs as well. He getting soem okay # too. Either choice is a win IMO. But if it were me, id go AQ.

But there is a sense of bias because he is the one with the AQ. I don't know of anybody with any AQ subs so I can't listen around for myself. 2 of my friends have Rs, and they sound wonderful. This is a tough choice...

Its a pretty tough choice if youre looking for a 5:3 ratio. Ive never tried those aq's but my r 12 liked alot more than 600 watts.

I have not had much experience with r's, heard em once or twice, but I've had a single 2.5 15 for only a few weeks off only a brutus 1208 giving it maybe 4-600 watts and its been absolutely amazing with the lows. Never know till you've heard them both i guess.
