Slow Build for RD 7500.1 running 2 12s (mayhems maybe or something else) MK2 Jetta

Canceled the whole project. Everythings for sale most of it is sold. Sold the car too and flew to Texas and picked up a rust free Duramax. Much happier. Done with car audio.
Wow you put so many hours into this project. I bet no audio but will see you doing something in the next few months.

Yay Duramax, why no more car audio?
I got myself a great vehicle situation. Small BMW coupe for the summer, Small motorcycle for summer and gas mileage, and the Dmax for winter and whatever I need it for. It's nice to own something that isn't so fragile. Everyone knows how fragile bikes are. And the bimmer is lowered and I am ALWAYS worried about hitting and cracking the front fiberglass bumper. Also the truck is my first automatic ever. Very happy with the vehicle situation.

Dude WAY TOO MUCH TIME. I spent 19-23 hours just sound dampening the engine bay. And don't get me started on how long it took to do that Dual alternator set up. I had to stop. The car was my first car and was in wisconsin it's whole life. So the underside of the car was pretty rough. I was SO SICK of all the little problems it kept having. From the starter, to the fuel injectors firing while the car was off, and to the power steering rack leak. I was done sticking money into it. And it was driving me insane all the time I was investing while I already had my hands full with A LOT going on. I was sick of watching everyone around me having fun and enjoying life while I was stuck with "all work and no play". It started really affecting every area of my life. Even my friends and brothers were getting too busy to help and sick of helping with it. A lesson was learned. You gotta know when to call it quits and throw in the towel before its too late.

It sucks. I have the kind of personality that I won't do something unless I am going to do it the right way. Which in the audio case means A LOT OF TIME and WORK.

The bimmer I will never put audio in. The point of that car is to remain light, sporty and tear up corners. Can't do audio on the bike. And won't do audio in the truck as I need the space for tools and stuff.

I still have a pair of the copper bars, both alternators, the subs and 1 amp I got as a trade for sale.

God blessed me with a really good deal on my RD7500.1. My friend and I drove his Dmax to Tennessee and I traded the RD for a 96 F150 and 2 Planet Audio BB4000.1s. Then towed it home and sold that F150 for $2000. So that helped make up for a lot of lost money. But I am not worried about the money. I am just glad that I am feeling better.

That sounds like where I'm at. I still have a few pieces left to get rid of. I still enjoy this but I don't need to do anything for myself. I'll be happy with a very small setup that sounds better than stock. Do it right but simple install

The set up in your signature?

I listen to 90% of my music on headphones and I am happy with that. I have a pair of headphones I love so much that I bought a pair after they were discontinued and before the price on them soared.

Audio in the car was hard anyways. I have 2 friends who like their music loud and hardly ever have them in my car. SO whenever I have my girl friend, brothers or the other friends. Music is always off or quiet. In fact. I tried playing a song yesterday loud and my girl friend instantly asked me to turn it down. So doing a big system would have never gotten its worth in play time.

The tc got traded in for the fusion. I got a few pieces coming for the ford but with sync and it being a family car I'm not going to do much. JBL ms-8 and a 500 watt single sub.

Ok. Now I remember that Scion TC. It's been awhile since I have actually sat on a forum.

I have 1 friend who is into audio. He has a powered infinity subwoofer. All it needs is RCAs and a power/ground to it. He offered it to me to buy because I told him that is about all I'd do. Something super simple and small.

What motor did you go with in the fusion?

For me. The Silverado is a RIDICULOUS difference to what I own. My jetta had powered windows and power steering as its only working luxary. The power steering was leaking from the rack and The cruise control was broken and I removed the A/C (I don't use a/c anyways).

The bimmer has A/C as it's only luxary. No power steering, manual seats, manual windows, so basically a fun enthusiast car.

The bike has no luxaries. No heated grips or cruise.

But the truck I got is an LT3. Because I told myself I wanted to own at least 1 vehicle that spoils me.

The good thing is with what we know now we can do a lot with small and simple.
I still consider myself a n00b. I don't know as much as you. I was doing a lot of reading and taking a lot of advice for my build. But I agree. I know enough where if I did something small. I could make it really nice. I keep telling my friends that 2 12s on 500-1000watts would blow their minds if done right. But they all have this opinion formed that it takes 5k+ to be loud just because it's what people like you and I did. But that is not true. I have heard 1k on 2 12s get very loud.

It's the 2.0 ecoboost. It's got everything except the adaptive cruise and lane departure.

I think i know what you guys mean. I started a small build on my GS300, had to work on it after the fam felt asleep. Which mean i'm tired the next day and kids still have to play and do stuff. Maybe its time for me to throw in the towel.

Exactly. There is a difference between good loud and uncalled for daily loud. I'll stick with the good loud. By time the build was done I only went full tilt for demos anyway.
