hey guys , thanks in advance for the help. I recently bought a used Alpine CDA-9885 headunit from a buddy. I installed it in my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. I know the unit worked before i installed. I have installed dozens of headunits and never ran into this problem. anyways after installing the unit, everything seemed to be working fine except i have no audio when in tuner mode or aux. when in cd mode, it plays nice and clear like it should. in tuner mode i don't even get so much as static. you can hear power to the speakers when i crank it up, but no signal.
I pulled the unit back out to make sure everything was wired correctly and it looks as though it is. The head unit i pulled out of the car before i installed the Alpine was a cheap jvc and i would only receive about 3 or 4 stations and they wouldn't always be clear. most all of the stations were static.
my question is, do you think the problem lies in the unit, or something with the cars antenna system. I feel like i should still get some type of reception with the alpine. not just silence. I am stumped on this one guys and need some help ( its my fiances car and shes going to kill me if i don't fix her radio haha)
