Voltage drops??

Well, i only have a 100 amp alternator, and where can i buy one? That website only gives me info about it. How much does it cost? Thanks

(edit) My god; on jegs.com it $537 :O
i was not recomending it i was showing you what it was. i ran 50 amp versions back in 96. they **** more current to make more voltage hence why they kill a battery faster.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif just telling you that 12-13ish voltage more times than not is inaudiable and used this as an example. i took them out and nothing much changed from RTA levels or anything. now when i burped off a CHARGED battery it made a little difference but depending on the temp it wouldnt take me high enough to the next whole spl score. (thats when iasca had SPL plus in SQ contests)

you don't need "14.4" volts, get a good deep cycle battery in the back, do the big3, and you'll be fine. just make sure you don't drop under 12 volts, again its only 1000wrms..

Haha, i'll hang onto it until i get a battery in back. I can get a Stinger SPV70 for $150. I might buy it. The only reason im using it is so i can see voltage.

The stinger SPV70 is better. That's why im going to get it. 1050amps . Good for 2100 watts. 53 pounds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif haha

CA specs dont mean crap to an audio system. too much of what goes on for the 30 seconds of the test happens at a level of voltage an amplifier can not operate at....

depends. for the power you have all 3 would work as a 1 or 2000 watt amp will never ask for 500 amps never the less 1000 amps. they all 3 are very different in size. the group 31 Deka i would think has an advantage over both but then again it is alot bigger and in your power range i doubt seriously you would have a true audible difference. I like my kinetik 1400 because out of the agm batteries i have had in 3 years has not given me 1 issue which i can not say the same for some of the others i have owned and doesnt mean that the others arent good either they just didnt work for what i was doing. generally speaking the bigger the battery the bigger load it can take over time. meaning the Deka would/shoud be able to run 1500 watts (around a 150ish amp load which would be closer to what your 1500ish watt amp is going to ask for) longer than the other 2. again though depends on your space and the size of battery you are looking for. physical size wise the 1400 is the smallest of the 3- stinger would be in the middle and the deka would be the biggest.

Do everything you can to get better voltage(within your budget). I had the same issues as you. I was running a Sundown 1500D at .5ohm with a stock battery and alt in a dodge truck...and I'd drop to about 11V doing test tones at full volume. Here's what I did:
1) Put a Kinetik HC2000 up front...+.6V

2) Put a Batcap 2000 in the back...+.5V

3) Upgraded my Big 3 from 4 gauge to 0 gauge...+.4V

3) Added some aluminum buss bars for my front battery...+.3V

Now I never drop below 12.8V when doing burps at full volume(even with a lot of clipping).
aluminum buss bars whats that. anyways I have a stock alt(110) 1 y.top and the only other thing that fit in my hood was a duralast gold 1000 ca. big 3. isolator and for know im set nothing drops under 12.5.@3000WRMS

If you do a bigger alt you will still need more batteries to store the output. I would add a battery then see how much it drops. It may be your battery is not holding a good charge from dropping to the 11's. I would charge your battery over night and then let it set for a few hours off charge then check your resting voltage should hold 12.7+ if its still good. If you add a battery bench charge it first this saves your alt from all the initial strain.

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
