Went Shopping Today :)

Well, I finally got out there to buy the equipment for the Honda Pilot. Here is what I bought:

Alpine CDA-9847 Headunit

Alpine MRP-M350 Amp for sub

Alpine MRP-F240 Amp for mids

MTX T5510 sub

MTX Bass Slammer type box

Polk Audio DB650 speakers (two pairs)

I just wanted to add some omf to the Pilot since the stock setup *****. I stayed with Alpine because I got some great deals on the equipment that I couldn't walk away from (same thing with the MTX and Polk). Should be a nice change that isn't too overpowering that everybody turns there heads when I drive by. I just wanted a setup to help me enjoy the music a bit more. I am sure down the road there will be changes, but for now this is what I'm installing. I will post pictures of the install.......

WEll if you got the deals then your in good shape... it's easy to beat stock setups... enjoy, it'll be a nice change.. ohh 1 thing... wire you pilot with 0/1ga to start with.... don't cheap out and get less or you will just end up replacing it...

Welcome to the forum and it looks like the Pilot will be sounding much better than the OEM Honda gear soon!

I don't know that I would have gone with the MTX prefab box over a custom built one but if that's what you wanted and it makes you happy then that, at the end of the day, is what matters most.

It is made by Q-Logic and it perfect volume for the sub. I actually might try to sqeeze the sub into the stock location in the Pilot. There is a very weak 10" stock sub in this vehicle. i went shopping today too....but all i got was a new intake manifold and a new holley dual-jet carb for my car.

Eh, just use your box you bought today, and don't even bother with the stock. I bet it wouldn't sound half as good. Make sure you unhook the *stock* sub!

I bought the Q Logic at Circuit City when I went to buy the sub. They actually have other Q Logic pre fabs on sale. I was tempted to purchase the box that holds two 10"s, but decided againest it in the end. They also have a couple boxes to hold 12" for $12 I think. I guess these boxes are old stock that they must get rid of. I just opened my box to check everything out and the box was still wrapped in the plastic.
