Hello everyone. I'm new here and I'm new to setting up car audio. I have a 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara and I'm looking to upgrade my system in my vehicle. It is all stock and it ***** because I cannot connect my cell phone or iPod, etc to it and the speakers kinda **** because they aren't that loud. Anyway I'm looking to get a new receiver for my SUV but not sure what kind to buy. I want a double din of course but does it have to be a certain size? Or can I just go buy any type of double din receiver? I also got these 2 kicker sub woofers from a friend but not sure what amp to buy for it? I have attached a pic of what they look like.

Thank you for the help.

Ya we need a budget to work with, to help you get some new gear.

Yup that's 8 ohm sub. Can be wired to 4 ohm final impedance, with 2 of course.

Not sure about budget... anything that will be decent enough to run these subwoofers and for a double din I'll say anywhere between $150 to $350. For the amp I know I seen one at crappy tire for around $250 so I guess anywhere around $150 to $350 for an amp as well? Would I need a capacitor or fuse block? Like I said I'm new to this whole thing so whatever would be good enough to get this setup going and in good order then I'll spend the money. I'm thinking of building my own sub box as well. Thanks for the help guys

Would I have to buy 2 amps if I buy new front and back speakers as well?
get a hu that has 24 bit da convertor and has hp x over and u be good, if u want speakers louder later u can get 2nd amp but i doubt those comps will over ride speakers to much., i'd recomend my hu but u said u want double din..

Thanks. I'm still a little unsure of what amp to get. What wattage etc? I seen some that said 1000 watt 2-8ohm. Can I get an amp something like that? I was reading a little tutorial saying if I have my 2 8ohm subs I can set them up as a parallel connection to the amp which will bring it to 4 ohm impedance? Is this correct and a correct method on installing my subs?

I'm also going to purchase new front and back speakers.

No need to bypass the amp. Most use an LOC that takes the full amped signal and turns it into a flat RCA level signal. Here is the newest I have...

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
