Ok, here is a review of a real "budget" amp. Rockwood Combat AK50 amp. 250 w/ch x 4, 0.1 % THD at 250 watts into 2 ohms. +/- 1 dB 20Hz - 50 kHz. Bought it in 1997 for $65.00, never used until I installed it last weekend. Powering 4 - 6.5" Dynaudio midbass units, 4 - 28 mm Dynaudio tweets, 2- 12" Morel dvc subwoofers. Very smooth, tight, detailed sound, no problems. And these Dynaudio speakers, which I purchased in 1988, are no longer available, but are very good. The Morel subs are top of the line, and sound great, even with the budget amp. Fact is, you can find this amp at yard sales, eBay, clearance. I like good sound, not into Wattage Wars or bragging rights. The amp has stood the test of time on the shelf, now let me see if it holds up in my Jeep Cherokee.
