What would cause subs to play at only 1/2 power?

Like the title says. I have 2 jl hd 750 amps going into 2 12" jl W7s. Recently, the subs lost their UMPH. They play, but.......missing. I have an Ohio Gen alternator, and 2 gauge wiring, so the amps get power. Amps green lights are on, soooooooooooo. I'm baffled.

Good place to start is check grounds .... Grounds can cause tons of funny issues

Thanks. gonna go to audio shop tomorrow. Need to have stuff checked with multi meter too.

If I remember correctly, newer JL amps halve their power when voltage drops too low
