ppi made a nice one back in the day1/2 DIN indash active crossovers.
They looked like EQ's, and I bet lots of people blew speakers thinking it could be adjusted for each song.
I'd of bought it to just play with. This shop asked me to buy one for $300 to put in my car. Told them I didn't need a giant rice bowl. Like if we had Ricers in car audio, the 34" Audiobahn would be the definition of it.
Ive seen one in person and it only has a 2" coil on them. Total waste of metal/chrome.I wonder if that basket would mount up to my APX motor lol
If you set everything up properly you wouldn't be almost catching cars on fire... If they were that bad and that big of a risk Sony wouldn't be releasing them.I guess but everything had been set up properly
I worked for the 'shack too... 30 years before you.. and their car audio was top of the line for its day. Excellent recievers (cassette).radio shack car audio gear.
I worked at radio shack back in like 1997 and got my first audio gear there. The amp was like 10% THD and the woofers were pretty low budget.
Had one back when they first came out here (around '93), I remember they rolled around with the demo truck that had a whole bunch of them in it in different sizes. It may not have sounded that great, but to a 16 year old it was amazing. Especially considering it only had a 40w amp on it.Well, the 8" Bazooka version got tons of great reviews back when they first came out. I actually had two of them. They were still tuned a bit high for my tastes.
Amps, yes. But their coaxials have always been respectable. In days past the Jensen 6X9 was king of the hill.Jensen

Same. I have been through tons of subs, amps, speakers, and that is not counting my DIY Zaph days..Never any fires, or blown amps/subs etc etc..Im far from a so called "Pro installer," but yea never issues.I've honestly have never blown a sub or fried an amp, even in my nooby days clipping things to hell, nothing ever fried on me. And this is running kicker subs, powerbass subs, sony xplod subs to boss amps, sony xplod amps, logic amps, cheap walmart amps
