Shadow.. I was after same until I made-up a short coax lead ( st'd Mic/interconnect type ) with a single RCA plug one end and the other end a ( most are actually stereo configured but that's OK ) line socket which accepts (Stereo) 3.5mm plugs. Solder the coax onto the 3.5 socket ( and if socket IS stereo as opposed to Mono then just bridge/join the two positive terminals with some solder ) If you can get a MONO 3.5 line socket then all the simpler at soldering stage. The idea is to plug a YAMAHA (YPAO) or DENON (Audyssey) AV receiver set-up mic using the adaptor you just made. I mention the Yammy or Denon names as I HAVE USED BOTH and they work just fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Seriously //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Both brands mic's are fitted with MONO 3.5mm jacks- hence the need to do the mix to MONO when soldering-up a stereo line socket. Once plugged-in just proceed per the Eclipse Head unit MEI mic instructions. How do they perform in this role?...Just dandy actually, as they are doing exactly the same thing in the car. When finished the set-up mic is fine to return to its normal "indoor life"... just don't lose your car usage adaptor for next time !! Hope that helps ya out. Cheers mate.looking to buy a mei-100 tuning mic for my eclipse cd-5030
