My god, Its part of the PCV system. If you follow the line up to that round thing thats the PCV. Sits on top of the valve cover. They all crack right were that tape is.

Both my Saab and Audi had leaky PCV systems in some way or another. Both cars also blew their turbo's. Hmmmmm.....
