Item(s) for Sale:

80 GB PS3 older backwards compatible model. Got this as broken with a non functioning drive. Inspected the drive and cleaned the lens, seems that the motor that spins the game is out. (pretty common problem from what I have gathered)

Item(s) Description/Condition:

The bluray drive is broken! A new bluray drive can be had on ebay for fairly cheap. If you're seriously interested I can point you toward what you need for the repair.

Can also throw in a brand new wireless PS3 controller, only been opened and charged.

Price:

$125 shipped or trade for whatever. Just let me know what you have for trades, car audio or others will be considered

Shipping and Miscellaneous Item Information:

I do not have the original box, but will package this to handle the abuse of whatever carrier company!

Will trade straight for a DD1508 or SA8! Someone could have a working PS3 for ~$200. This model usually goes for ~$275 on ebay since its backwards compatible!

I have replaced one of those lenses in those. there's a jap company that sells them they run around 95+shipping.. Hey good luck with sell man

From the little research I have done, it seems the laser lense was fine. It was the actual motor that spins the disk that was bad. The laser would still emit light, just the motor wouldnt spin the game for it to be read. And a replacement drive is less than $95 on ebay!

No offers at all? might have to throw this on ebay. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Thought there would for sure be some interest in this. Guess not? One last bump before I throw it on ebay! Someone atleast make an offer!

Dont you have to like program the drive to match the PS3 or something? Mine just died (flashing red light)
No, you just need a drive that is specific to your model PS3. You match your serial # with a drive from the same model and all should be well.

I think as long as you have the circuit board from the top of the bluray drive from your PS3, you can order a barebones drive and use your circuit board and its much cheaper to fix. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyone want a cheap PS3?! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

fwiw, i swapped a BR drive from a 60gb into my 40gb (60 had bad mobo). i think i had to swap my board to that drive but it worked flawlessly. if i can dig up something i might trade...
