2 or 4 ohm L7 for kx1200.1?

get the dual 4ohm so you wire each sub in parallel, that gives each sub a 2ohm total load, and then parallel those together and you get 1ohm.

You can get dual 4 or dual 2 ohms. That amp puts out max power at 1ohm and is stable down to a .5ohm. I ran a 1200.1 at .5 for like 2 months w/o ANY problems or heat issues. VERY riziliant amp.

The way you had them before does not really pose a danger. On the contrary, they presented a higher Ohm load to the amp so the amp put out less...

This x2, exactly. It's been my experience that 4 ohm operation sounds better to the ear. Never more than 2 ohms for me, and 4 is better. Worth the...

It also lowers the amps efficiency and raises the current draw.
