which way should i go.

i have 16 mids for the MINI. all 8 ohm.

8 per door.

they will be wired in pairs of 4, in parallel, making each set of 4 mids a 2 ohm load.

so its either 2 100.2s, with 8 mids per amp (basically 1 amp per door) running each channel at 2 ohms

or 1 100.4, running 4 mids per channel, at 2 ohms.

the 100.2 is rated 200 x 2 @ 2 ohms

the 100.4 is rated 160 x 2 @ 2 ohms

i know the 100.2 is supposedly a little more underrated than the 100.4 is, but i found a good deal (IMO) on 2 100.2s, bnib for 370 shipped.

what do you guys think?

WHY in the name of all that's holy would you put 16 mids in a car?
The difference in power that you're talking about isn't going to be audible.
becuase i can //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

(2) 100.2 just a hair more power than the 100.4 and seems more in tune for your setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i agree on the extra power,

but why do you think its more in tune for my setup?

just curious.

i still need a 100.4 as well for all 16 tweeters LOL.

im gonna preorder the new one for $325 shipped as far as that goes.

so how are you going to power your tweeters?
the tweets are 3 ohm each so im gonna do those in pairs of 4 as well, making an overall load of around 3 ohms (series and parallel combo) so each channel of the 100.4 will be at 3 ohms running 4 tweets per, MORE than enough power for the tweets

NVM just get the 100.4 and you will have 2 of them
im thinking about that.

the 100.4 is 325 shipped brand new (pre order) and the 2 100.2s are 370 shipped. so the 325 is still cheaper, but the 370 for 2 100.2s is still a deal.

thats what I would go for would be 2 100.4's, if your gonna get one to run the tweets anyways why not get a second and have a matching set of amps for the doors. Not a bad deal on the 2 100.2's but at $325 shipped for the pre order on the new 100.4's you would be less money out of pocket, less amps to try and fit in your car and cleaner install with matching amps all around, less power/ground wire, turn on lead and RCA runs, just seems to simplify things and saves money overall.

Set the voltage to 20 volts via DMM and it will equal out to around 100 watts. https://www.the12volt.com/ohm/ohms-law-calculators.asp#voltage
