DOES NOT ACCOUNT FOR POWER COMPRESSION
SE12 Reference Efficiency = 85.2 dB (1W/1M) ... Power handling = 600 watts RMS

Sealed ...

For one sub with 600 watts to it ... 85.2 + 10*Log(600) = 113 dB

For two subs with 300 watts to each ... 85.2 + 10*Log(600) + 10*Log(2) = 116 dB (+3 dB gain)

If you were to send 600 watts to each ... 85.2 + 10*Log(1200) + 10*Log(2) = 119 dB (+6 dB gain)

By porting a single sub, you theoretically gain up to 6 dB near the tuning frequency, but it depends on many factors ...

So, short answer, sealed should be a louder, but not by much ... Not to mention ported is much more cost effective when you consider the difference between a 600 and 1200 watt amp, another sub, upgrades to your electrical system to handle the extra power, etc. etc. etc.

I replied...you were incessantly ignoring what people posted to you. So i decided to put it into perspective...and that formula will IN NO WAY tell you accurately what you will hit...especially on the TL. I'm talking about REAL LIFE...none of this numbers on paper ********.

that kid probably is the loudest 17 year old ever. which is hard for me to admit, being 17. i guess my 2500 watts and 4 15"s cant stack up to a solox and 10 kilowatts. but wait, his sig says buying 4 2500 watt amps... does that mean he doesnt have them yet? oh well, i know im cool because i posted the 10000th post in the thread! hahaha

I know of a team in Pennsylvania with one single woofer that could take out almost all triple-pioneer woofer installs....

They held the record for a year'ish...

And that was living proof that it's all in the install.
