That amp would be a good match for a HDC3, in reality those subs can get loud on just 1kw, and that Sundown will put out anywhere from 15-1800 depending on voltage and ohm load. That is enough to get that sub loud as hell. if you can drop the load to where you see 1 ohm reactive, then the amp will probably put out near 2kws

I like the 2 AQ sd2.5 combo gets loud and is pretty affordable if u ask me. Plus the sd2.5 series is USA made until further notice

If you still do not think it will be enough than yes a FI BL would be the next best thing, but it is not a HDC3.

ya I only have ~1.5 without sub displacement... So go with the hdc3 or not enough power? Or would it be a better match with a BL or 2510 or 3510?

Go with the HDC3

In a direct swap from a bl to my HDC3 the HDC3 is louder.

I was thinking for my next sub to be maybe something with a stronger lower end. My 2.5s get pretty low right now and there tuned to 38hz. I have yet to hear a "Low end monster" though.

And Hdc's are forum boner. But I'd get one. There seems to be a good bit of numbers to back it up.

Just about to order a SAZ-1500D...so with my 260amp alternator letting my current amp (BXi1606) see 14.2 volts I should be able to get close to 1800rms @ 1ohm out of that amp?

If so, that'll make my (2) TC-1000's sound very nice!!

The new Mag is not made to be a big power sub, it would be best matched with a 1000D. Nick has transitioned it to more SQ with a bit less power handling ability.

Does this make them more efficient? I hope it still can compete with the old mag in the spl department..

BL fully loaded should be ok. I really like my RD Alpha so far.
