VW Jetta Alt

I have a 1997 VW Jetta. I am definitely going to need a H/O alternator. I am having problems finding one. Unless I can cough up $4-500. Are there any other options. Does the Alt have to be for a Jetta??? I wish I had an xtra $500 Help me out if ya can.

You may be able to get your stock alternator rewound to output more current, might give you what you need.

Call around to local shops and ask who rewinds alternators in your area.

Nate make's great alts that actually put out their rated amperage. They are usually around like $280 or more...good prices. peace
