I thought our hearing only went from 1-180 with 180 dbs being a rocket launch. what on earth could make 200 dbs?

I think the loudest POSSIBLE noise is 190 dBs. Not sure though

I cant remember if it's 180 or 190. All i know is that's its less than 200. That is of course unless you go outside our atmosphere, or under water.

194 dB in air is the loudest possible, and somewhere in the neighbourhood of 230 dB in water is achievable.

194 in air. Some science people built a machine to make it and they can shake apart a soildly built brick wall in about 20 seconds.

under water is about 230 but the amount of water that would be moved would pop your head like an unwanted zit.

if you leave are atmosphere there is no air to be moved. So high sound would be right around 0db I belive.

i believe the loudest possible tone is 196 which can be made by a blue whale. I wouldnt wanna be near that mofo if it went off

the navy did do 230dBs underwater but it is only 160-180dB in air equivalent. people are blaming the navy for the deaths of some marine mammals for this.
