Why does this pic show 2 pos and neg for one sub. I know there are 2 prongs coming of of each pos and neg wire of the sub, so would wiring it this way be the same as just wiring one pos wire to the amp and 1 neg wire?

well the little red X doesnt show much, but what you are describing is a dual voice coil sub, each coil has its own positive and negative

its not that different, you just need to include both coils, check the sticky on wiring option on how to wire your subs
