My stock sub got blown in my car. From research I know what size it needs to be but I don't know what else I need to know if I want one with similar specs to my bad one.

All I want is to get one I can screw & plug in and be done with it.

You'd need to figure out "impedance" and be sure to match that or you will damage your factory amp. It should be either 4 ohm or 8 ohm but it could be something oddball with a factory system so it would be good to try to confirm. It may say on the speaker itself, otherwise perhaps Crutchfield has the answer.

Also it is very likely you will not have enough space to mount most high powered aftermarket stuff so shopping something cheap over at Parts Express may be your easiest for plug and play option.
