Sneak peak of my next build: UL12's, PB XA-3000d...

The majority is going to be fiberglass because both the front and rear of the box is going to have alot of curves. I may use some baltic birch for some of the longer flat areas though, thanks for the idea.

Not sure what your basing your comments on because I haven't even decided myself what I'm doing for the front stage, let alone told you about it. Also, I know what I'm going for as this is not my first system (I used to compete). This is going to be a SQ capable setup (I can always turn down...

Underhood battery to trunk relocation for weight distribution...

I bring a bunch of tools and have my spare tire, tools, and rear seats at the pit area, but I take out the system beforehand;) How heavy is your amp, and what kind of racing do you do (drag, road course...)?

Underhood battery to trunk relocation for weight distribution...

Yeah, I'm a little heavier than I'd like to be, but my subs are only 17lbs each and my speaker amp is going to small and light (Alpine PDX 4.150). My box is going to be a relatively small (1cu ft per sub) fiberglass box, and I plan on having some sort of quick disconnect for all of the...

Bonneville Salt Flats here in Utah. Yup. I figured it out when I bought them and I'll re-decide again when I actually start building the box, but I think I'm going about 1 cu. ft. per sub sealed.

Underhood battery to trunk relocation for weight distribution...

So just to clarify, the size of the run from the alternator to the positive terminal of the battery is completely independent of what current the amps in back are actually pulling, right? (For example, hypothetically, even if my amp in the trunk was pulling 700 amps I'd be fine with 0 gauge for...

Quick disconect for easy removal at the track?

Yeah, as collateral because I don't have any cash after my build. ...not:D I race my car on a road course.

Underhood battery to trunk relocation for weight distribution...

I'm relocating my main and only Optima redtop battery from under the hood to the trunk of my car in an effort to help offset the front-heaviness of my car at the track. I'm going to be putting in an upgraded alty because my system will be running 3000+ wrms. I've been around a long while and...

Quick disconect for easy removal at the track?

I'm putting a system in my car that I am going to be taking to the track, where obviously weight is important. I'm going to design it so that it's easily removable. I'm going to relocate my battery to my trunk, so I'm possibly looking for a quick disconnect fitting (or maybe terminal) of sorts...

? about PKD1 Amp kit and wiring this setup

They make a little adapter with a set screw that goes on the 0ga and has 4ga sized nub to put into the amp's power block. That way you can just run the 0ga all the way to the amp.
