12" Fi Car Audio Q vs 12" Stereo Integrity Mag D2(Comparo Pics)

Maybe if you can make em boom like so....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

The secret formula was lost; no amount of mechanical magic can bring that back...

You know , if people were paying attention , and reading all the information provided . They would realize there is another FI driver with numbers closer to the mag than the Q . Still completely different drivers though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thats funny because on SI's own website they describe the Mag as an "SQL" woofer.
I just wanna know what your gripe with the term is since the only thing it means to me is a good sounding woofer that has the ability to get loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
Im wonderin the same thing..

I have a mag, it sounds awesome..it gets loud...(SQL fans) ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

"SQL" implies that "SQ" by itself can't be loud...when going to a live concert clearly shows otherwise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Now, if that loudness comes unnaturally, from a lot of subbass, well, that's not SQ. It's SPL. I don't see how anything can "sound good" when you feel your skull shake from the output //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My peeve with it comes because it's a misleading term, when the ones we already have work well enough.

I see where your comin from...but the way i've always looked at it was SQL meant it sounded good with the ability to get loud. No, playing your subwoofer as loud as you can too see how many cars alarm your going to set off isn't going to sound as SQ oriented as if it were at lower volumes. ( on say a rock song) But time and time again "good" can mean 2 different things to 2 different people..to me 145db at 40hz sounds sweet, but ask my parents that and you'd get a totally different answer, and i'm sure SQ wouldnt be one of them.

who cares about all of this?

XS-L120P5W's blow Mags and Q's right out of the water.............

LOL

Damn it, I thought I could get through it with a straight face.

so what "should" the mag be labeled as? It is certainly not an sq driver, it wins spl competitions just fine, and its certainly not an SPL driver because it sounds awesome. i think that is where the SQL comes in, not that it does both at the same time, but is capable to do one or the other in the proper install.

Thats why when using the same terminology, a live concert would be labeled as "SQL." //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I don't see why you HAVE to feel your skull shake everytime you listen to a sub thats capable of getting loud. You can always listen to the sub at lower volumes and enjoy its SQ. It simply has the ability to get loud. A versatile speaker if you will...

Also, some people happen to enjoy clean subbass at high volumes. Its the difference between a loud fart and powerful lows. I don't know about others, but unless the volume is insanely high, I can still tell the difference in SQ between woofers at moderately high volumes.

If my skull isnt shaking, it is clearly not loud enough to truely be experenceing the music.

Reference, your concert example. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

I do not see a problem with an addition of up to a 600 RMS Class D mono amplifier with 4 ga OFC wiring supply kit and be fine. It would be...
