12' Sub ideas...which is the best?

Want to sell me those 12's on the cheap?
YES! I will make sure I give yu first dibs on them....but I am saying, they are OLD and are loose as hell, will need major overhauling. But **** I love them!!!

As far as budget, I can splurge a lil bit more!! I just want the best 12's out there!!!

One thing. Ported box.
True, almost every woofer mentioned will want ported.

And yeah, people jump at the idea of a system with a decent budget. Most people want this kind of bass for 12 cents and some pocket lint //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif (like me)

No I appreciate what you wrote...

MAN you guys are fast to reply on here THANKS....I'll be doing my own research for the next month with all these models/brands LOL

So far from what I seen I like the DC's.

So are you guys thinking all these subs mentioned above are better than JL12w7's??

If you want it to be obnoxious .......Absolutely.

Most subs with large motors (The kinda subs you want to be LOUD) will do much better in ported boxes and if obnoxious is the goal ported ported ported pored! Haha

Go into the Build Log section and check out Thor's DC Build or whatever it is called. That can give you an idea of Level 5 10's + alot of power @ work.

Edit: Quotes messed up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I agree with these' date=' though electrical comes into play in all accounts. Not to dissuade anyone, just making sure that it is taken into account for the budget.2500's can get pretty filthy too while on ~1500rms and "stock" electrical. I would guess low to mid 40's?[/quote']

I have a budget for Alternators and Batteries as well...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Honestly I'd recommend that you save some money and upgrade everything else as well.

I wish I were you! I'm sitting with 2 12" MT's and a charging system that can support about 1200 watts haha. It's miserable.

You sir, make this advice thing FUN.

What kind of RMS you want to throw in there? Look into Stetsom amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also, how much space (in cubic feet) will you have to play with?

I love ported boxes...I just don't know if it would sound good with my box idea...I'm just afraid there will be too much "wind noise" if that make sense?!?!

My favorite thing about my current box is zero trunk rattle...I can not stand a system that has trunk rattle and fortunately I've found a way in my box design to eliminate that...

AGAIN...THANKS for the ideas/suggestions guys!!! I am stoked right now....and I can wait to start piecing this all together and get some build pics up!

I wouldn't mind borrowing them since all my subs are blown. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Toss them in once side of my clamshell

Port noise won't be an issue if you have enough port area, no need to be concerned with that.

Start ordering ****. Meow.

For the rattle just use sound dampener like SecondSkin and if the box is designed with the correct port area you will be fine. You will not have port noise if you have a good design.

Right now i have 1.5 per chamber x 4....and I still have a lil more room to play with

Port noise shouldn't be a problem at ALL if you have the proper ports //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I like PSP Aero Ports for getting the job done. Flared and easy to cut. Just make sure you have enough port area (maybe a little closer to 16 per cube if you can)

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage
