Also the same meter that metered mine metered my cousins. He has Four 15 inch memphis mojos, with two 2000 watt memphis amps, and 6 batteries walled off right behind the front seat in a new grand prix and it showed a 159.

AC 190 = Audiocontrol...same difference ... no one still accepts it as a real score.


as for the person who asked why they'd want to meter INSIDE the box? well clearly because its significantly harder to easily test a mic's pressure range when most SPL car's are just in the 150's range,....easier to just put a mic in a box and see what the span / range is.

i could see and understand that being a selling point for the mic. however, that quote came from their page hyping up their subwoofers.

How about this for a different perspective on the mic...

Let's say it reads high...like a AC 5 db off of the TL high...would that necessarily matter?

What would matter more for testing is it *consistent*...for $75 you get a high meter but if it's consistent then you are able to accurately judge which setup is louder...

Also if you know how high it consistently reads then you can just subtract from it to approximate your TL score....

Can't beat that for $75.

When I am done with it I will send it your way if you wish. That way we have 2 sets of tests to conclude tempature and atmosphere differences and changes in the mesurements vs. the termlab.
