4 ch 1000w range amp recommendation?

Looking for a 4ch amp to power Hertz ESK 300w RMS comps and ESK 300w [back doors] coax speakers. Looking at 1000w RMS range amps as my newb understanding is that will end up being 125w roughly to each of the 4 doors.

There's a Bit 10 installed now along with a mono RF amp for the 12" sub in back. SQ is important and I'd like to keep it around $500 or less as long as the SQ is in the same range as the rest of the system.

The Hertz HDP4 was recommended by the shop I go to, for $449.

ESK components is only 100 rms bro. not 300, you smoking.... 300 is peak power not rms, you shouldnt even be looking at peak power anyways. you only need a 4 x 100 rms 4 channel

lol- sorry. Said I was newb //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

HDP4 is delivering 150w based on how I'm reading it (4ch/4ohm). I read was it's good to have an amp that's slightly over powered so there's plenty of headroom. If that's true then the HDP4 is still in the running or are you saying I'm better off with something a little smaller? Any suggestions? And thanks for the help.

Searching now for amps that fit the specs. So far I've found:

Alpine PDR F50

JL Audio XD400/4v2 (only 75w)

More power is good, but it gets ridiculous in a hurry if we try to have enough power to play exceptionally dynamic music without a lot of distortion. Don't worry about amplifier headroom too much. HDP4 would do a great job and it's not very large, physically.

Thanks- looking at the Draconia now.

Running 4ch at 4ohms:

Hertz HDP4 (150w) --- 100Hz @ 4Ω THD .08%

Alpine PDR F50 (85w) --- 4 Ohm@14.4 V =0.09% THD

JL Audio XD400/4v2 (75w) --- @ 2Ohm THD 1%

Zed Draconia (175w)--- no THD info given

Zapco ST-204D BT (180w)--- THD @ Rated Power

Zapco ST-4D (100w)--- @ 14.4volts less than .05%

Arc Audio XDi 600.4 (150w)--- .02% 12dB @45Hz (front only)

I'm listing THD as a spec and leaving their data as they present it... without a definitive comparable standard.

Still searching, will add as I find.

Thanks Trumpet. So you're saying 150w isn't overkill even though the speakers are rated for 100w continuous. I like loud but SQ is more important overall and it seems like the Hertz is pretty high on the list- the install place did a good job so I'm leaning towards that now.

Compiling a list- adding urls for future reference.

Running 4ch at 4ohms, Class D unless otherwise noted:

Hertz HDP4 (150w) --- 100Hz @ 4Ω THD .08%---$449

Alpine PDX-F6 (150w)---0.05% THD+N @ rated power--- $470

JL Audio XD400/4v2 (75w) --- @ 2 Ohm THD 1%---$430

Zed Draconia (175w)--- 4 ohm 20Hz-20KHz--- From 1 watt to rated power. Typically less than 0.05%---$525 (got this from Amazon- III isn't listed on their site yet???)

Zapco ST-204D BT (180w)--- THD @ Rated Power

Zapco ST-4D (100w)--- @ 14.4volts less than .05%---$399

Arc Audio XDi 600.4 (150w)--- .02% 12dB @45Hz (front only)---$500

Massive B2000.4 (150w) --- THD at 4 Ohm Load 30% Rated Power Massive D800.4 (120w)--- THD

Massive EX44 (100w)--- THD

Rockford Fosgate R600-4D (100w)---100W x 4 @ 4Ω ≤1.0% THD+N --- $330

Leaning towards the Hertz or one of the Massives now, maybe the Arc. Anyone have a favorite or see one that stands out? I'm down to tossing coins cuz I don't know how to narrow it down any better.
