I need to know which amp set up would be best for my system. System is as follows

Fronts – ID CXS62v2 (2ohm)

Door – ID OEM’s (4 ohm)

Sub – ID Q12v3d4 (DVC)

I want to use one of the following options in terms amps:

1. ARC KS900.6 (5 channel) – would send 100w to the fronts, 60w to the door and 310w to the sub – Cost $670.00

2. JL 450/4v2 + JL 500/1 v2 – would send 150w to the fronts, 75w to the door and 500w to the sub – Cost $930.00

3. JL HD 600/4 + JL HD 750/1 – would send 150w to the fronts, 150w to the door and 750w to the sub – Cost $1400.00 (budget breaker)

4. ID Q450.4 + ID Q700.2– would send 100w to the fronts, 75w to the door and 650w to the sub – Cost $1200.00

Which one should I use? Looking for best bang for the buck while providing quality power.

Thanks

the ID set up looks to be the most balanced for the price..too bad you didn't go 4 ohm components. It will be harder imo to get the sound linear considering the mid bass would be getting less power and generally takes more power than mids to be noticable. I do not have any experience with the oem drivers however..

How about a JL HD 500/5 ?
The rear on the 500/5 is only 25w per channel. I don't think it's enough for the OEM's

I went with the 2ohm speaker because on the ID forum it was recommended. On diymobileaudio.com guys are running 75w to the OEM's and are quite pleased.

You ecommend the ID amps then over the others?

I wasn't bashing or saying anyone was right or wrong, just going off my experience and with what looked like an issue is all. I never messed with the oem mids. I would trust whatever eric or matt said however.

from the looks of what you put up came my recommendation. Generally speaking I always ran more power to the speakers that played lower as it usually takes more power to produce the lows. A lot would depend on how the mid basses performed with that power. It just looked like the ID amps came the closest without going over budget. Most of my experiences are with their horns in which you always dialed the amp down and always tried to get as much power as you could to the mid/mid bass to keep up with the horn.

i run 2 did run 3 of the 700.2s and they are excellent amps. before i got my 1200.1 i had a 700.2 bridged on a pair of IDQ12v3d4 and man was it banging. i'd recommend the ID setup myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but i'ma lil biased since that's wat i'm running //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The ID's are under-rated, expect to see more power.ID ftw.

Arc, well...meh.

JL, not even in the same catagory.

Have you looked at zapco?
Which Zapco you you recommend? Why no love for the JL's??

Certainly did not take any offense. I appreciate your comments.

You do know that Arc is designed and built by Robert Zeff the founder of Zapco, dont you?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Out of the options, that one looks to be the best compromise between power and budget. Provides approximately 2db more output over the Arc, and $/watt is comparable.

The other options are more expensive with generally less benefit.

JL, not even in the same catagory.

The JL's are a quality product with very useful features such as adjustable slopes and bandpassable crossovers (Do the ID or Arc offer either or both of these features?).

Recoil 2500.1 $179 2500 x 1 @ 1 ohm. Make sure subs are the dual 4 ohm version. If you don't want that much power, get the Recoil red1200.1 for 1...

Have an Xli 2500 as a sub amp in the music room, overkill for sure, never overheats, never skips a beat.
