Looking at the pics, I can tell ya now those lead wires will be slapping the snot out of the cone 🤣
No no no, it was designed that way. As the sub breaks in, the coils burn off excess and become more prone to heating. The extra travel allows those temperature management prods to install new heat management vents on the back of the cone. Very high tech indeed.

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
