Blvd Customs - Mercedes GLK 350

the quality of work is great. the vehicle is horriffic. it makes me think of if a scion xB and a escalade mated. looks like a fugly toy or something.

LOL at some of you and your ideas of custom.

Mercedes didnt want the same car coming back bagged with dragon decals and a K&N filter on it.... LOL

I think these guys captured the theme very well. I would rather drive this than the original. I think the original is pretty ugly.

I really do respect the work that went into this. A lot of the work was apparently painstaking mods large in scale. Re-working body panels, widening the car... etc. It looks clean. Good job guys.

I wished I lived down in florida, where it was warm all the time and theres a bunch of coke dealers and rich people fueling the custom scene. In fact, while I was driving to work the other day with 4 inches of snow on the roads, going 30 on the highway looking at all of the dumbasses off the road.... I was still SLAMMING on my nightshade //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Im not going to let the weather beat me

you're probably looking at high high 5 figures if not in the low 6 figure range.

We estimated the cost of construction at $140,000 for labor and equipment. Almost a third of that in the one-off body kit. The base vehicle should retail around $40,000 when it comes out next year.

Thanks for the kind words. I used to run a shop that saw a lot of drug dealer customers, and they do like to spend a lot of money, but they usually drive crap cars and want quantity over quality. They would rather have 10 EV midbass drivers & bullets than a single pair of Hertz components. Our core clients at Blvd are pro athletes from the Florida teams, executives and other well-to-do's in the area. Most of them are looking for something custom that looks like it came that way from the factory.

well pepsi looks like ill have to look you up when i go to florida this year, give me a tour //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ?

I respect the work into that. I was thinking they should do celeb cars after looking at it. Looks like you do. What is the average install you guys do over there? Is it stereos or custom body work or what? How would you feel about being compared to unique, good or bad?

you dont know what custom is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.giffirst off you should check your spelling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

secondly if you can sit there and say that this vehicle is not custom then you

are just plain stupid.

you do understand that the vehicle has undergone extreme modifications dont you?

if you're idea of custom is bagging, and some candyass paint jobs that are marbalized as you put it then you need to get out of the 90s buddy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

if you could only imagine the amount of work and design that went into the vehicle..lol
yes but its still not custom . i like lame ass candy or paint jobs that go above and beyond. this car is aabove and beyond but the owner has to explain whats been done to the car. on real custom cars you dont ask the owner you just know whats been done. so yeah mt speeling **** so yeah ohhh well stfu:D

you obviously still cant grasp the definition of custom. Theres alot more to custom than candy paint/rims. They modified the a arms, molded a one off body kit, custom interior, lost the roof( you have no idea the work involved in keeping a car stable doing that), custom audio. No need to go on, i fear your idea of custom was played out on pimp my ride 6 yrs ago:rolleyes:

Anyone in the St. Pete area is welcome for a tour. Aside from our install facility, we have an onsite museum of amazing vehicles, including exotics, restored customs, collectibles, even a Foose Camaro and the original General Lee from the first episode of Dukes of Hazard.

Usually we leave the bodywork to someone else, but time and cost constraints meant we had to do this one ourselves. The majority of the work is in stereo upgrades and wheels/tires. In most cases we arrange all of the details like engine swaps, tint, and paint so our clients don't need to worry about it.

I don't mind the comparison to Unique... too much. I did meet Will Castro this year at the unveiling of our GLK, he was a little upset because he also submitted a proposal to Mercedes to build this car but was turned down. Our facility is a little smaller than his old store in Holbrook, and we have a much smaller staff. Will's fault comes from his tight time schedules, always delivered asap. It is not uncommon for us to have a vehicle for months at a time to ensure every detail is attended to. With a little more time (and maybe a TV show) I am sure we will eclipse the size of his business, which is important now that he has moved into our backyard. The average cost of the systems we put together is 3-15k, but then sometimes a guy calls and wants a set of 30's on his Escalade, and thats an instant 22k+

hate to be in a roll over in that.. Youd be dead instantly. Is it even road worthy or just a trailer queen? I cant see a peice of glass holding up the weight of a car.....

Sounds pretty cool. If more workand the show comes dont let it take away from the quality. I see it around here to the good work that got them there goes away after more business. I would rather it take to long than not have every detail attended to. How many people work at your facility?

We have 2 installers (including me), one wheel specialist, shop manager, store manager, receptionist and 2 salesmen. If we become overwhelmed with business, we will hire more help before we sacrifice on the quality.

We drove it around quite a bit before we gave it back to Mercedes, very solid. We welded in numerous supports underneath the truck, 1x4" steel pipes in the b-pillars and rear strut tower bracing. Believe it or not, the wheels don't even rub on the fenders, we built them around the wheels from the start, for the closest fit possible.
