If i were to get 2 sets of Boston Acoustics Z6 components, and two JL 300/2 amps to power them, how do you guys think that would sound. Im kind of thinking i should put more power to the z6's...

what if i were to use the bi-amp feature on the crossover, use the two 300/2's for the 4 woofers, sending 150 rms to each, and buy a 300/4 and have 75 rms going to each tweeter...

im running an alpine cda-7998 in case you guys wanted to know.

should i spend the money on a 300/4 and go that way, or just run each set of components off of a 300/2.

This set up will most likely end up in an Subaru WRX Sti... 2004 or 2005.... depends on what i decide on... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Maybe a JL 450/4 if you biamp them. And please tell me why you need TWO sets of Z's?? This is like the second post this week with someone wanting to throw a grand in the toilet.....shhhsh!

Keep in mind that they are power hungary and they are also 3 ohms. So 150 @ 4 ohms is 200 @ 3. Maybe shoot for something that does 250 @4 which will give you 333 @ 3 and you will have plenty of headroom to work with.

i don't know how much power the boston's need, but i'm assuming 1 set of comps is for the front and the other is for rear fill? if so just get a 450/4 and send 150 to the fronts and 75 to the rears.

or if u want to do it ur way, just get 2 450/4 and u will have 4 sets of 150rms and 4 sets of 75rms and only 2 amps instead of 3. why pay more and add extra weight, especially to a fast car?

Weight doesnt bother me, since the upgrades under the hood will make up for it and then some. And yes, one set was for rear fill. I know everyone is against it, but i usually have people in the back...sometimes im in the back, and it just doesnt sound right.

I already have two amps, is there really a point in trying to sell them and spending another 1000 on 2 450/4's when i can buy a 300/4 for 350.

Actually, then id have 4 amps in the car... cant forget the 1000/1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

originally i wanted an mb quart qaa 4250.
Now you're talkin!!! Some how you took a wrong turn IMO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif That amp right there makes those JL's look like something on Blue Light special at Kmart //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i agree with you on the rear fill, but i also have a wagon, and the speakers are way in the back. it doesn't effect the soundstage at all for the front seats. i used to hate riding my friends land cruiser (back seat) when the highs were up front and the subs were pounding right behind me. didn't sound right at all. try hooking them up as is. i didn't know u already had the 300/2s, so getting the 450/4s may not be the best idea. if the 300s aren't enough, sell them and get something else.

ordering from ikesound seems a little risky in light of the recent threads on here... although they do have a good price on that amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

that sounds like a winner... i figure if im not satisfied, then i can get the qaa 4250.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Post a WTB on it on ECA and you'll have one in a day or so prolly:yumyum: And, yea that is way too much to gamble with Dikesound.

i like what you have going right now. I am a big fan of having one amp for each set. Those Bostons are nice speakers. I personally have two sets of mb quart premium components, and i have 2 ppi 200.2 pcx series amps running them and it is the most beutiful sounding setup i have ever heard in my car. Plenty of power to. Those jl's are good amps and the output will be clear.

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
