Why would a thief take a face plate and leave the radio, when there is more money in a radio than a face plate?

It is far easier to snatch a faceplate instead of trying to get an entire deck out of a dash, not to mention the faceplates are quite expensive and do sell for a lot of money on ebay when compared to the entire unit. I actually have a Premier DEH-P590IB and I lost my face and the replacement was like 150 bucks for a new one and I can't find any on ebay.

So in short, yes people steal face plates.

You need an alarm with lcd display so u know if its set or not.and I can set mine to enable at a certain time,like 12am every night and then disarm again at 8 am.
