No. Just make sure you use a AGM capable charger and use a trickle charge.
right on. I got a pretty decent schumaker that does it all. Thanks for the timely reply.

 
i dont think you would have to. I was told by machanics that you can leave the batterys connected together. they said just trickle charge the batts or put them on a low amp charge and they should be fine

14.6 is max charge for headway. 3.65 volts per cell. There should not be any voltage drop from your alternator wiring to battery so 14.8 is too high.
