couple problems with alpine amp

just got the little old school mrp-200 alpine amp and a REx 12" D4 for my 4 runner. the amp powers on but the sub makes barely any noise and gets very hot. does anyone have any ideas? would a bad ground cause these problems?

Amp no good Seems like an internal short if it's heating up that fast.

seems more like a wiring problem to me. it was working previously.

Check the sub wiring. Measure the resistance of the sub coils right at the amp terminals.

does the sub move freely if you gently push on it by hand? if not sounds blown.

well the sub is brand new. and nope pretty tight. ill grab a multimeter and measure that in a little bit
