Fiberglass pod build...Noobs first attempt

It involves a machinist and an excellent wielder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Wielder of what? I'm going to guess a MIG or TIG welder, but it could be a katana I guess //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I wish to know this master plan seeing as we both have the same truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. well basically

If I got a set of 3-way components, and had the 6.5" in the door, would it be bad having the 4" & tweet up there like that? Yes that is the design layout I would like to use, and seemed to be the best option for achieving the best front stage????
Thanks for website! Am i crazy trying this for a first build?

it will sound like gods killing kittens if you do that. you dont need that many speakers in the front or really even in the car. you get way to many crossover points and intermodulatin. it would look similar to -v-v-v-v-v- with the V's being equal to the rolloff of the driver.

Hey, this is Jason's xB with Diamonds on the dash! I remember his xB from Image Dynamics IASCA competitions a few years back. He had a really nice setup, simple, and clean! Nice guy, helped me with a ton of questions I had. BTW, it sounds REALLY good up on the dash.

You have obviously never heard this type of setup done right. 3-way front stages take a little more work to get right but when they are on, they are on. Matching drivers and setting crossovers and gain are a requirement. The properties that make a good midrange and those that make a good mid-woofer are not coincident. Letting a midrange play midrange, a woofer play midbass and a tweeter play the highs allows for less distortion across the frequency range and properly matching the crossovers and gains will eliminate the possbility of driver rolloff.

Plan is to not only make the seats slide forward and backwards but together and back apart. LOL...

As close to equal wave lenths as possible. In order to do this the dash will be modded down low to have the sub down fire in there...

?? So your talking about the seat moving the passenger and drivers side together for listening i.e more towards the middle ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They will lock into a driving and a listening position. If money gets better I will add a 7" touch screen and some sort of carputer so it doesnt look like I did it for the only reason of equal pathlenths.

What do you think? Only thing I can think of in a wide ass truck.

Two sets of seat rail on each seat , one set for forward and back , other set for side to side . New mounts for the new rails. Man that sounds complicated , but would be unique . What about the space between the seats when they are in driving position ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
