Tangled Up in Blue
And I stumbled across these, which are cool for several reasons.

1. They're DIY, which is teh **** to begin with.

2. They're based off one full range speaker and notch filter - provides excellent imaging and gets rid of having to design/build a crossover.

3. They're cheap - perfect for dorm setups. Also very small.

These or the new Creative Sound 4.5" XBL^2 full range speakers would be a good choice for a budget setup.
