JL audio vs IDQ

just to get things straight.
JL > IDQ

i have been an installer off and on for 10 years, and there is no comparison.

if you dont believe me, then come down to houston and listen to my truck (2003 GMC Yukon)

with only ONE w613v2, on a 500/1, with a ddx712 headunit, it slams as hard as TWO idq 12's . its all in the box, and the JL w6's and w7's sound awesome in a ported enclosure.

i think the prices are all very reasonable as well.

i can build a box for two 12's of any brand and make it sound similar to 2 idq subs, and i have proof for that as well.

i used 2 sony xplod 12, the bottom of the line ones in my buddies gs400, and it sounded like crap.

i built him a new box, and its even pushed by a crappy boss 800 watt amp, and it slams hard and has so so quality.

the jl w6 is THE BEST SUB IN THE PRICE RANGE, and im sure alot of yall will agree

The box definetely plays a major roll, but have you built tons of boxes testing IDQ's? or just w6's? maybe you heard a bad install with IDQ's and your basing all of your judgement off that....

IDQ would be more inline with the w3 and lower lines while the idmax would be more of the w6/w7 type sub

Considering the company i keep on this forum the W6 will stomp the IDQ. If I was on the DIYMA forum, the W6 gets beat by the IDQ. Listen these are two fantastic companies. I do believe the W6 will get louder but the IDQ will be more "musical". Both sound fantastic though from a SQ stand point.

in TEXAS its about one thing, BASS BASS BASS

i have tested many of both subs with different amps and boxes since i started this post last week

the JL w6 13, in a ported enclosure with a 500/1 just destroys the other in loudness and crispness of the bass.

now the 2 "new" idq's had a little less pop to them with a 1000/1 on them, but still sounded good.

i now have 3 12 inch "new" idq's in my yukon, and im taking them back out, because it doesnt hit NEARLY as hrad and crisp as my 2 w6's

we listen to rap down here ya old farts, so yall stay inside your little retirement communities in florida and california, and leave the "BEATS" up to the real *****'s down here in the south.

oh, and audioholic, it sure is easy to be a bad ass behind a computer, huh.

i actually sell both at our shop, and here in texas, JL is king, because for the price, the quality and hard hitting of these subs cant be touched.

try playing ABN - still throwed on your ****, and when the subs start bottoming out, ill meet your old ass halfway in mississippi and show you how we rolw dpwn here in the dirty third

why compare a w6 and an idq for "hitting the lows"

try an FIq verses the w6 and then come tell us JL is the shit

edit: BTW....I would consider the w6 an sql and the idq an sq
