I painstakingly wired up my subs... sealed them in the enclosure, but when I checked no sound from one of them...

I unsealed the one not responding and the lead was loose... connected to terminal but hanging out of cone...

I know I can try to repair the lead, but what happens when you have 3 voice coils?

When I wire the two back together again, if I don’t wire the bad voice coil “to it’s self, then they both work together?

Can I do anything that makes decent sense with three voice coils, or am I going to have to take off the dust cap and try to resolder?

2x 4 ohm coils can be wired parallel to 2 ohms or series to 8 ohms. There's many amps with 2 ohm power you can use.
