Port too small?

How tall is the port and how big is the box a buddy locally built a small box 1.25 with a 1"wide 15" tall port for an sa12 and it sounded good no port noise.

if the port is 14in tall it should be fine, if its 11.65in tall that is on the small side. Also port location in the vehile will also determine port noise. In trunk your not gonna here it but in cab you may need to make sure you have enough.

If using a decent sub, double the width to 2". Then re-figure the needed port length, and redo the design so that you still have the same net air space after all displacements.
