i've owned several sundown products. loved them all, and would highly recomend them to anyone. as far as failier (sp?) rate, the OP has no clue how many sundown amps are in service running strong vs how many get repaired. so, with that being said, the OP needs to STFU.

very popular amps, so they have a fair amout of them that break down. also as mentioned alot of people buy these amps and try to run 2k+ watt systems of their stock alts. = dumb people. they spend 2k on their system but dont want to pay another 300 for an ho alt. that is the real question. why are people that retarted? why did you single out sundown? just take a look on ebay at the broken amps for sale. lots of alpine and rockfords on there.

OP what is the point?

dB-r really doesn't have a large % of amps in comparision to the amps that are out there working. On top of the fact that Jacob has the policy he does, sending out new for most of the warr. issues. If you have had experiance with Sundown you would know that your question is insulting to those who know this and other products of quality.

In my opinion you are way out of line with your question and specifically naming Sundown as you company of question.

Ok good I never thought I would do this but I am going to purchase 2 new sundown saz-3000d. Everyone swears by them so I guess they are alright! Just making sure why they had a particular company (dbr) to repair the numerous amps out of house. Well since it is mainly people abusing them then that makes me feel more comfortable. I will not be abusing mine. I originally was researching the crunch vs sundown then the aq3500d vs sundown. My heart was set on the aqs but the sundown warranty won me over! You cant beat that! 2 years!

So... even after 2 years is up, if you still own the amp and it breaks down... you can get a replacement for no more than 1/2 of MSRP. In general it will be much less than 1/2 of MSRP if the amp is in decent condition - often times this replacement will be cheaper than a full repair.

We do try to add value with our warranty.

Anther way to look at this is there are not enough repairs to make it necessary for Sundown to have an inhouse repair shop that requires full time staff.

I personally send any repair I have, Sundown or not, to Chris at dB-r. there may be better somewhere, but I have yet to find them if there is.
