sa-12s vs alpine type Rs

I was looking at getting one 15, but some things changed and now that wont work. However, I can fit 2 12s. So, which of these 2 subs would be louder, get lower, and/or sound better? They will be powered by a SAE-1200d and box will be about 4 cubes tuned to whatever is recommended.

I can get the Type Rs a little cheaper btw

it depends on what you want, SQ or SPL. The Type R would do really well in 4cubes tuned to upper 30s (like 38ish) with plenty of port area. Esp since u have more than the reccomended power for them. I have seen soneone put an IA40.1 on a pair of Rs at one ohm. Running 2000watts to each sub DAILY lol. Although i wouldnt reccomend putting that much power to a pair of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have had two type R setups, 2 12's and 1 12. Both ported, one to 32 in 2.5 cubes and 2 12's in 3.2 cubes net tuned to 38.

I am running now 2 SA 12's @ 1ohm off an Orion 2500d. Subs are in 1.5 each tuned to 30 hertz. I still need more power (getting 600+ to each sub) / I am praying for Jacob to make a D2 version.

Sundown hands down is a better product. They are re-conable, handle more power (look @ jacobs youtube) and sound far better.

Dual-2 coils will be available soon ! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I already have them in 8-layer aluminum for re-cones if you are willing to pay a little extra.

Here is a vid I took today of the 12's on more power, on an orion 2500d @ 1ohm. I clamped about 600-700 watts per sub.
