Wow, I haven't been here in forever!
I still have the same car, a 1998 Prizm because it's reliable, cheap, and paid for... but my audio setup has changed a bit.
I started in 2010 with the goal of a better than stock but discreet system. I had an old Aiwa headunit, 4 $30/pair Pioneer 2-ways, and twin NOS MTX Thunder 5000's getting 50w RMS each at 4 ohm from a crap Sony 2ch A/B amp.
Then in 2011 I changed to a new basic Kenwood headunit, 4 gauge big 3, and a Alpine MRP-M500 amp.
In 2012 I had raided a few Best Buy clearance sales and had came out with 2 pairs of re-branded Orion "West Coast Customs" components running on a 4 channel Alpine amp and replaced the tired MTX's with Kenwood subs.
This year my wife and I both went Bluetooth with new Kenwood headunit and are completely happy with our individual systems, except we are shopping for a better amp for her, which brought me back here.
My current setup is:
Kenwood KDC-BT758 Bluetooth / HD Radio / Pandora headunit
Alpine MRP-F300 4 channel Amp 300w RMS
2 West Coast Customs (Orion made) WCC650 6 1/2 components front with tweeters and crossovers
2 West Coast Customs (Orion made) WCC650 6 1/2 rear without tweeters or crossovers
Alpine MRP-M500 Sub Amp 500w RMS @ 2 Ohm
2 Kenwood KFC-W2513PS 10" SVC Subs 250w RMS each; wired 2 Ohm
MTX Sealed box
Remote bass knob
Sub cut-out switch
4 gauge Big 3
4 gauge power throughout
Duralast Platinum 34R AGM Battery
Her setup is:
2001 Toyota Camry XLE
Kenwood DPX-501BT Double Din Bluetooth / Pandora Headunit
Factory JBL amplifier
Factory JBL 6 1/2 fronts
Factory JBL 6x9 rears
West Coast Customs WCC650 Tweeters (leftover from my setup)
Alpine SWE-10S4 10" 300w RMS SVC Sub
Sony A/B 150w RMS @ 4ohm bridged amp (soon to be replaced)
Small sealed box
8 gauge power
Duralast Platinum 34R AGM Battery
