T line build for Megalomaniac

Sorry for cluttering the thread Mir. I really would love to hear it when Im in town over winter break. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So have you ever frequency tested a compression chamber and a traditional tline in a vehicle? I would be willing to bet they arent the same. Most likely close but due to differences in driver vs port placement they will vary. That was my only point. It may 'act' the same but wont be the exact same. Thus the variations of 1/4 wave enclosures.
What? I never said that a compression chamber doesn't affect the sound because I know it does. What I was saying is that the presence of the chamber doesn't make this not a transmission line. The same way that having no taper on the line doesn't stop it from being a transmission line enclosure.

It all depends on your definition of a transmission line. Without question its a 1/4 wave, but definitions of the term 'transmission line' will vary depending on who you ask. I know more than a few old school designers that will not even acknowledge those as anything resembling a true tline. Which I stated. Again its just semantics and I was bored. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Mir, what impedance are the coils on that EU700? Want to hook it up to my O-Audio plate amp I have at my apartment? I bet we could get that thing to jazzed for sure of some real power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

D4 wired @ 8ohms. that would be rad to do. but you live so dam far.
Im deciding on a bunch of HT stuffs now, since i feel i am far along in my car audio portion thats done.
Dude...come on. Wired at 8 ohms that sets the plate amp at 250rms; that would be perfect. Plus, you can hear the peerless subs that I built along with the HSU setup.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The correct answer is yes, you want both left and right so you get low end information from both channels. It is very common for recording...

The preamp input on most amps is 10-20k ohms, so you don't really lose voltage. I've run plenty of systems off 2v preamps with no problems.
