to port or not

porting - decreased sq, increased in spl, larger box

sealed - increased sq, decreased spl, smaller box

some subs sound good ported and were almost meant to be and then there are the ones that just sound like ****. its all personal preferance

i wanna go ported when i get a chance, time, and cash for the wood

well imo the speakers upfront or for sq and the subs are to knock your neighbors windows out thanks for the help.
Then you obviously dont know what true sound quality is. So you would probably benifit more from a ported box.

I had 2 12" L7's with 2 jl 500/1's. I had them sealed and hated them. HATED THEM. Then i got them ported and they sounded real good. All preference to ear, but mine hit a lot harder in a 6cu ft ported box
