I have a 300 rms 4 ohm sub with a 240 rms mono amp both peaks are 1200 I was wondering could I get another one and wire them parallel to the same amp the amp at 2 ohms puts out 400 rms

Yes that would work ..in theory it would be upto 5db louder if everything is correct
