advantage of multiple sub setups?

i havent ever really sat and pondered it, its just always been something that i would question and not think about until i saw another outrageous setup

oh im not fighting that. i wasnt arguing the displacement i just kinda threw the fire engine comment in there cause i had nothing else to say.

so:

displacement = more air moving = more pressure = deebeez?

this is something ive always wondered. talking straight competition.
its been proven that 1 type r can get up into the 15x.x

so whats the advantage of people running 6 15s or 4 18s or 10 12s with an assload of power behind them?

when people typically get 15x.x they usually have them in their competition boxes. And they are tuned pretty high...their daily driving boxes aren't nearly as high and may not be quite as loud. I think that the people who do multiple woofer setups wand to be loud without having to do special boxes for comps or that they don't quite have the know how 2 build boxes of that nature

makes sense, i knew they were tuned really high and all that.

$typer + $wood(comp box) + $wood(dd box) = $$$

$woofer + $woofer + $woofer + $woofer + $box = $$$$$$

naturally im not talking electrical upgrades, batts, amps..any of that ****. but i would think itd be more COST EFFECTIVE to build 2 boxes like you said over having few g's tied up in woofers and amps and whatnot. maybe a box design or 2 also.

but whatever, i got my answer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The fucking time it takes to get it right.

I bet you wouldn't break a 150 with a TypeR... even a 15. I'd give you, two weeks.

No offense, it's knowledge and testing.

Also, stuff like bassrace... where you want to AVERAGE high SPL for 30seconds, usually at a low note... you NEED displacement and power.

Also, even if you get a high number on the TL at a certain point... doesn't mean you get that type of pressure chilling listening to music.
